Programme Overview

Primary Mathematics

The aim of our Primary Mathematics curriculum is to enable all students to acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and for excelling in the PSLE. We help our students gain confidence and foster interest in mathematics.

Primary 1 and 2 Mathematics

Content Mastery

  • Students will master 4 operations “+,  “up to 100. 

  • Students will master both 2-D and 3-D shapes.

  • Students will learn new topics such as Fractions, including simple addition and subtraction of fractions.

  • Students will solve word problems on Money, Time, Length, Volume and Mass

  • Students will learn using picture graph to represent data.

Skills Mastery

  • Develop the ability to observe patterns, similarities and differences. 

  • Use thinking skills as comparing and classifying.

  • Use heuristics such as guess and check.

Primary 3 and 4 Mathematics

Content Mastery

  • Students will master 4 operations “+,  “up to 10000, including 2-digits multiplication and division.

  • Students will learn new topics such as Angle, Symmetry, Perimeter and Area. 

  • Students will expand their knowledge to four operations of decimals

  • Students will solve word problems using Mathematics model. 

Skills Mastery

  • Develop the ability to draw conclusion and making difference.

  • Use appropriate math concept to solve problem

  • Use thinking skills as analysing and deduction

  • Use heuristics such as simplifying a problem and drawing a diagram.

Primary 5 and 6 Mathematics

Content Mastery

  • Students will master 4 operations “+,  “up to 1 million. 

  • Students will master 4 operations of fractions and decimals.

  • Students will learn new topics such as Percentage, Ratio, Rates. 

  • Students will master geometry topics such as Area, Angle, Volume and Mass.

  • Students will learn how to apply Mathematics to real-world questions.

  • Students will be exposed to new topics such as Algebra, Circles, Speed, Solid Figures and Pie Charts.

Skills Mastery

  • Develop the ability to explaining and justifying solutions. 

  • Interpret the solutions in the context of the problem and make sense of the solutions

  • Use thinking skills as generalizing and synthesizing. 

  • Use heuristics such as working backwards and considering special case.
